About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

mautherous@gmail.com

All who submit their work will be published, without exceptions.

Borgward Isabella Hansa 1500 Paper Model - by Wilhelmshaven
via AGK Kartonmodell-Datenbank

This is the paper model version of the German car Borgward Isabella Hansa 1500, in 1/15 scale. The original model was published in 1956 by Wilhelmshaven and thanks to AGK Kartonmodell-Datenbank, now you can build your own Borgward Isabella. The Isabella is an automobile which was manufactured by the Bremen based auto-manufacturer Carl F. W. Borgward GmbH from 1954 to 1962. The Isabella was to have been marketed as the Borgward Hansa 1500 but the Isabella name was used on test vehicles and proved popular with engineering staff and media. The production car was subsequently renamed and only the first few hundred examples were built without Isabella badging. - Borgward is an automobile manufacturer that was founded by Carl F. W. Borgward (November 10, 1890 – July 28, 1963). The original company, based in Bremen in Germany, ceased operations in 1961. The Borgward group produced four brands of cars: Borgward, Hansa, Goliath and Lloyd. The marque was revived by Carl Borgward's grandson, Christian Borgward, with his partner Karlheinz L. Knöss, and assistance from Chinese investment in 2008. It unveiled the company's first new car in over 50 years, the BX7 at the 2015 International Motor Show.

Star Wars - Millenium Falcon Miniature Paper Model In 1/250 Scale
by Rawen - via PR Models

Created by Czech designer and modeler Rawen and originally posted at PR Models website, here is a "great little" paper model in 1/250 scale of the iconic Millenium Falcon, from Star Wars universe. The whole model occupies only two sheets of paper and as a bonus, you still have an A-Wing and a B-Wing, which are on the instruction sheet. As you can see, this Millenium Falcon is about the size of a matchbox, so it's a model only for those with firm hands, good eyes and the patience to cut and fold such small pieces.

The Incredible Robot-Ladder Paper Toy - by Hyun Lee & Moon

My friend Moon, from South Korea, sent me one more of his beautiful paper creations, which he did together with his creative son Hyun Lee. Moon said that Hyun Lee designed this Robot-ladder and that he created the paper toy based on this drawing, trying to be as faithful as possible to Hyun Lee's sketches. Moon said that only the innocent imagination of a child could connect a ladder and a robot and get such a cool result. In the image below you can see the drawing created by Hyun Lee next to the 3D model created by Moon. - "Many thanks, Hyun Lee and Moon! You are a very creative team! Greetings from Brazil to South Korea!" - Mauther

Saudações do Brasil à Coréia do Sul!" - Mauther

The Ephemeral Museum - Six Japanese Architectural Paper Models
by Retro Machine Club - Assembled by Papermau

All these beautiful paper models came from the same place, the Retro Machine Club website, from Japan.

You will find many other nice models there. These little houses in particular are great for Dioramas, RPG and Wargames.

The models, though well made, are very easy to assemble and I spent a very pleasant two hours while I built them up and saw them forming a kind of old street in a little town in Japan from the middle of the last century.
